The
Challenge
Steel Root needed a variety of things in short order but first and foremost was an update of their website which was looking a little grey. As with some cases I’ve seen before, the root of this issue was the lack of some definition behind the logo. The start of the engagement focused on who Steel Root was and what they valued.
The
Process
Steel Root was not seeking a rebranding; instead, they needed assistance in articulating and expressing their existing identity across all their channels. After conducting initial surveys, my team created style scapes to explore potential typography and color options. Given that their primary target audience is US government contracts, we developed several suitable yet subtle options. The branding survey provided valuable insights, and a few in-person exercises further helped us refine functional requirements and the sitemap.
The
Results
The project initially began as a straightforward web design assignment but evolved significantly in scope. Understanding the client's fundamental needs was crucial to our success. We not only designed and developed an exceptional website but also assisted the client in defining their brand identity and mission.
